[BCNnet] Bad day for Dowtown Chicago Bird Collissions

There appeared to be a relatively high number of casualties in Downtown Chicago today from collisions with the buildings, particulalry for White-throated Sparrows.  On a normal migration day I may see one or two dead birds on my walk from Union Station to LaSalle Street (six blocks).  This morning, I picked up 7 White-throated Sparrows (only one still alive) a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and a Swainson's Thrush, plus saw about 4 others squashed on the roads.  I dropped off the birds with the Collisions Monitors people who indicated that it was a very busy morning.
