FYI: In case you don’t have this notice yet:

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has released a plan to open unique and important bird and wildlife habitats to oil and gas drilling in Alaska’s Western Arctic. However, before they can move ahead with their plan, which would jeopardize vital habitats for ducks, geese and other migratory birds, as well as for caribou, they must allow the general public to weigh-in, but only until August 23, 2004!

BLM is proposing to open all but 213,000 acres of the 4.6 million acres northeast planning area in the National Petroleum Reserve - Alaska to oil and gas development. This area contains some of the most sensitive bird and wildlife habitat in the Arctic.
