About the Topic

The panel session will feature members of the power/energy industry. The panelists will describe the exciting opportunities for students interested in engineering design, consulting, business, and management in the power/energy related fields.

About the Speakers

Main Speaker:

Lawrence L. Guzy
Power Quality Engineer, ComEd

Mr. Guzy is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana, school of Electrical Engineering and The Lake Forest Graduate School of Business, MBA. His work experience includes semiconductor fabrication and training as a microprocessor specialist at Texas Instruments, Inc. While at the Peoples Gas Light and Coke Company, he specialized in corporate computer resource allocation and system planning and subsequently moved into marketing as an energy specialist. During this period volunteer work included assisting at The American Power Conference and The Midwest Cogeneration Association. More recent experience includes assignments at Engineering Consulting Firms, PCSI Consultants and Engineers, Stanley Consultants, Inc. and High Voltage Maintenance Corporation. Present responsibility is as a Power Quality Engineer at Commonwealth Edison Company, a subsidiary of Unicom Corporation. Unicom's recent merger with PECO Energy promises exciting new engineering opportunities in the years ahead.
