[BCNnet] Say No to House Bill 840 and S 65, which would legalize trap, neuter and release of cats probably using state funding

Friends,

 

I posted the following over a month and a half ago after which the bills
were pulled.  However since that time we just learned the sponsors,
Representative Holbrook and Senator Silverstein have reintroduced them, this
time under HB 840 (not the change in number) and SB 65.  It's more important
than ever that you call their 2 offices Monday and express your strong
opposition to the bills.  

Bob Fisher and I plan to drive to Springfield on Tuesday to give testimony
in opposition.  If anyone wants to join us we would be most grateful.  Feel
free to call me any time over the weekend or Monday to get more details.  If
you need more reasons to oppose these bills (in addition to the video
mentioned below), this link explains why TNR is a dismal failure:

Supporters of bird conservation:

 

There are 2 pending bills in the Illinois General Assembly, S 65 and HB 240
that would allow the neutering and release of wild cats throughout the state
and would probably result in getting state funding to do it.  I'm sure you
don't need any convincing that this is very bad for birds, but if you do,
the American Bird Conservancy has an excellent website and a terrific video.
