BIOLOGICAL DATA ANALYST
REQUEST for PROPOSALS

The Bird Conservation Network is seeking proposals for a technician to perform a trends analysis of its dataset in collaboration with a set of scientific advisors.

TASKS

1) Obtain and integrate data from CW partners into BCN database. (Lake County, Midewin, up to two others)
2) Consult with oversight committee, advisors and GIS investigators to agree on ways to improve quality of data analysis to accommodate habitat and monitoring bias.
3) Refine peer-reviewed analysis method for the BCN Census database that will yield reliable and authoritative avian population trend information for the Chicago Wilderness Region and perform analysis.
4) Participate in one planning meeting and one meeting to review initial analysis with members of the oversight and review committees, and modify analysis method if needed based on those suggestions. Make up to two rounds of revisions based on input from review committee.
5) Work with web site designer to display information about the analysis method and results of the analysis.

 QUALIFICATIONS

1) Experience with statistical analysis   
2) Knowledge of and commitment to conservation of birds
3) Excellent organizational and communications skills
4) Self-starter, shows initiative and independent work habits
5) Demonstrated ability to work easily and effectively with a wide range of people
