They may be small but they are colorful. Better yet they are slow, liked to
wander around during the decent hours of the day and don't seem to be
particularly spooked by large, lumbering homo sapiens.

Butterflies of the Chicago Region


Monday, March 19, 2007 - 7PM


 


Doug Taron, Ph.D., Curator of Biology at the Chicago Academy of Sciences,
will speak on Butterflies of the Chicago Region. 

 

The program will include tips on getting and using proper equipment (a field
guide and binocs), and tips for using a field guide. The rest of the
presentation will focus on learning about the species that you are most
likely to encounter in the Chicago region and on looking for butterflies.

 


General Program Information


COS meetings start at 7:00 p.m. at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430
N. Cannon Drive in Lincoln Park. You can arrive anytime after 6:30 to
socialize.   The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is located on the northwest
corner of Fullerton Avenue and Cannon Drive in Lincoln Park in Chicago,
right off Lake Shore Drive.

 

Street parking is readily available after 6:00pm.
