Forwarded message -

The final draft of the Illinois Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation
Plan/Strategy is now available for your review. I'd like to thank the
many agencies, organizations, institutions, partnerships, and
individuals have contributed expertise, information and perspectives in
producing the document.

This is the last comment period, prior to delivering the Illinois CWCPS
to the US Fish & Wildlife Service. To ensure full consideration, all
comments should be received by me on or before 30 June 2005. Electronic
delivery of comments is preferred. Please indicate the section and/or
page number corresponding to comments. Comments will be considered on
the merit of their content, rather than by quantity; inclusion of
supporting information, professional experience and expert opinion is
encouraged.

You may download any or all of the draft CWCPS (pdf format) from our
website: http://dnr.state.il.us/orc/wildlifeResources/theplan/ and click
on "Review the CWCP."

For your convenience, sections revised from the partial draft CWCPS are
indicated "revised," and additions to the final draft are marked
"NEW!" (see attached index). New sections include
Methodology, Plan Review/Revision, Natural Division Assessments,
Figures, some Tables, References, and an Appendix. The full document is
approximately 200 pages in length, and I expect most reviewers will
focus their attention on some parts of the CWCPS. If you would like a
CD version of the full document or a hard copy of the sections (or full
document) you wish to review, please contact me and I'll send them as
quickly as possible.

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful review of the draft Illinois
Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Plan/Strategy. I'm looking forward
to working with all of you in implementing our ambitious strategies!

Sincerely,

Jeff Walk
