Sierra Club's director, Jack Darin sent this out to people who want to help
Illinois get its conservation funding back!

For those of you who are very interested in the campaign to fight the
proposed IDNR budget cuts, you may be interested in joining a
listserv hosted by the Illinois Environmental Council on the topic.

On the listserv, I would expect 3-10 messages a day from various
organizations participating in IEC's nascent "Partners for Parks and
Wildlife: Campaign to Save Illinois' Nature and Open Spaces"
campaign. There is a lot of back and forth about strategy, etc, so
if you are just interested in getting action alerts and updates, the
traffic may be a little much for you.

To join, paste this into your browser:
mailto:sympa@lists.ilenviro.org?subject=subscribe%20openspace

We'll have a Sierra Club alert out very soon on the topic, which will
be on our website.

Another good source of information is the Illinois Association of
Park Districts website, www.iapd.org, which has, among other things,
links to the many articles that have been generated in Illinois
papers in recent weeks on the topic.
