We need your help. We have a big job to do where a lot of hands will
make for easy work. During these next two workdays, on July 10th and
24th from 9 am to 2 pm, we'll be replenishing the mulch path that rings
the Sanctuary fence. Fresh mulch needs to be spread to help keep
everyone's feet from getting muddy, and to help keep the weeds down too.
There may be some mulching of trees and shrubs outside the fence, and if
we clear the mulch that's been on the south side of the Sanctuary for
some time now, we'll be planting prairie seed there. Then there's
always weeding inside the Sanctuary that needs to be done...
So we have lots to do, and you can do different work at different times.
Come whenever and do whatever you can!
Please dress for the weather, wear a hat and consider that you'll need
some sun protection. Long sleeves and long pants are highly recommended
for working inside the Sanctuary. Tools, work gloves and refreshments
from Ann Sather's will be provided.
If you drive, it's recommended that you park in the Marovitz Golf Course
parking lot. We'll meet on the east side of the sanctuary at 9 a.m.
Jarvis can be reached from the Recreation Dr. exit from northbound Lake
Shore Drive, or the Irving Park Rd. exit southbound. If you're coming
from the west continue on Irving Park until you turn into the park east
of Lake Shore Drive, and follow the road past the tennis courts to the
parking lot entrance.
