I must admit that I'm a bit confused by this message.  It was my =
understanding that this listserv was set up after Sue Friscia decided =
that IBET was just for "the love of birds" but many in the birding =
community felt the need to have a forum for more detailed discussions.  =
I never subscribed to become a member of a group.  I did not know that =
subscribing to this listserv would give me a "President."  If I =
misunderstood, it is completely my fault.

If subscribing to this listserv carries with it a membership or implied =
membership in an organization, please let us know that.  I am sure that =
many of us would unsubscribe since we signed up for an information =
source and discussion forum and now find that we are being represented =
in something that we may not support.  I certainly didn't intend to sign =
up for something like that.

  Yesterday, at the coalition's quarterly business meeting I was honored =
to be elected as your President and I look forward to working with all =
of you over the next year to advance our mission of the conservation of =
wild birds and the habitats they need to survive.

  I announced the dates and locations of the balance of our meetings for =
the year, all of which will take place on Saturdays, from 1 to 4 PM, as =
shown below.   The 3 appointed representatives from each of our =
coalition members are strongly urged to attend all meetings, but the =
meetings are also open to non-members, who should contact me beforehand =
for confirmation. =20

  April 17th, at Camp Sagawau in Palos.

  July 17th, at a location to be announced in Du Page County.

  November 6th, at my home, 60 Ravinoaks Lane, Highland Park. =20

  The Executive Committee also holds open meetings and I will post =
advance notice thereof for those who may want to attend.  They will take =
place between the aforementioned regular meetings.
