This does not seem to agree with their own website =
(http://www.becklakedogs.org/news.html).
It reads that "December is the month for membership renewal. This will =
remain at $10. This money is needed to continue the representation of =
our interests with the Forest Preserve district." They also indicate =
that the FPD will "start a file on problem dogs" and that they are =
working on a lock "that the FPD will put on the gate."

Now, the permit is $50 and there were 500 of them issued. I'm no =
contractor but the cost of fencing 22 acres and now buying and =
installing a lock and issuing keys/pass cards plus whatever it will cost =
for FPD police to monitor the parks for "bad dogs" would seem to cost =
more than the $25,000 they generated.=20

They also state that "even though DFA expansion has been approved, the =
work is being delayed until the lock is installed." They also seem to =
feel that an additional 500 permits will be issued this summer. =20

It is my understanding that the user fees are enough to pay for the =
fence and any maintenance. Bylina repeated the statement several times =
indicating it is a data point that the Commissioners do or may find =
important in their consideration of more DFAs.

Please explain what you mean by your "FYI: The Beck Lake DFA cost =
the FP
zero dollars." I think many would be interested in the facts behind =
this
    statement.
