[BCNnet] End of North Pond beaver story (no sightings)

Bird People:

The Chicago Park District has just informed me that the North Pond beaver was removed from the area on New Year’s Day at approximately 6:30 a.m.  The animal weighed in at 55 lbs. and is healthy. The beaver had been building a lodge under the cement pier (also known as the casting pier) near the Nature Museum.  What an interesting exhibit that would have been.  

The beaver will be relocated to a new, hopefully more suitable, home in the next few days.
