After about an hour on the phone with many messages left, I have found
out that there are not one but
6 new Radio Towers going up on Cook County Forest Preserve land.

The sites are

Sag Valley Division Headquarters
Poplar Creek Division Headquarters
Thorn Creek Division Headquarters
Skokie Division Headquarters
G W Dunn Golf Course
Crabtree preserve Watchman's resident- North of the 110ft Tower already
there

These towers were given 50ft x 50 ft sites on each property for the
building of the new Towers. There on sites with existing Forest
Preserve buildings from what I was told.

The new towers are roughly 240- 250 ft tall.
I am still trying to find out specs on guy wires and lights.

These sites were approved at the Cook County Forest Preserve meeting
dated Sept 5, 2002.

Several folks should try to go the the meeting this week with hard data
on night time passerine deaths at lighted towers- there was a recent
massacre I heard about- AND stats on waterfow and raptor guyed wire
collisions- and anything else we can think of.

Since ABC is litigating, perhaps they might have a paper on these specs
that could be summarized at the meeting this week.

I don't know yet if I can go to the meeting.

Does anyone know the nature of the meeting and how to approach and
comment on this already approved construction?
Is it on the agenda in some form?

I will post more when I know more.
