The Chicago Ornithological Society meets tonight, MONDAY, FEB. 18, at
the Field Museum, at 7 p.m. (NOTE that the COS website erroneously says
Feb. 28.) Join us as Keith McMullen treats us to a smorgasbord of
colorful neotropical migrants and Southern Illinois specialties. Learn
more about some of the best birding hotspots in beautiful Southern Illinois
and some of it's newest summer residents (Western kingbird, Fish crow,
Painted bunting, Scissor-tailed flycatcher...just to name a few) as well!
This evening promises to be a treat, as Keith shares many of his personal
accomplishments, stories and events of birding endeavors throughout Illinois
and across the USA. Keith has led numerous field trips in the Southern
Illinois and Metro East areas over the past 5 years. In 2000, Keith
recorded 306 species in Illinois, the 2nd straight year he's been over
the coveted 300 barrier. His teams established the Illinois Big Day for
every month except May.

Parking for the meeting may be available in the west lot of the museum.
If that lot is full, there is street parking as you drive east toward
the planetarium. Enter at the west, ground level doors.
