Project 6 - Due 23 Mar
- A generating plant containing three identical 40 MW generating
units is connected to a constant 82 MW load. The unit failure rate
and average repair times are 3 failures/year and 8 days respectively.
Develop cumulative probability, cumulative frequency, and duration
(Prob/Freq) risk indices (i.e., risk of curtailment) for this system
over a one year period.
- A generating plant containing three 25 MW generating units is
connected to a constant 50 MW load by two parallel transmission lines
each rated at 40 MW.
Develop cumulative probability, cumulative frequency and
duration (curtailment) risk indices for this system over a one year period
using the following data:
- Each generating unit: lambda = 0.02 f/day, r = 4 days
- Each transmission line: lambda = 1.0 f/year, r = 4 hours
Main Campus students must submit their assignments on paper at the
beginning of the lecture. In addition, both Internet students and
Main Campus students must submit an electronic copy via SafeAssignment
on the ECE 558 Blackboard site BEFORE the beginning of class.
SafeAssign does not allow multiple files, so you'll need to find a way
to submit a single file, e.g., scanned images (PNG or JPEG) of
handwritten work can be inserted in a Word Document. MATLAB code, if
any, must appear in an appendix so that we can copy and paste your
code into an M-file to test it. MATLAB code must not be scanned; it
must be included as formatted text. See the "Blackboard SafeAssign"
