Thomas T. Y. Wong, PHD

Background:

Dr. Wong joined IIT in 1981, after an appointment as research fellow at the Materials Research Center of Northwestern University. He was the ECE department's graduate program director from 1987 to 1995. Prior to that he was the graduate admissions coordinator. He has served as the secretary-treasurer (1985-1986), vice chairman (1986-1987) and chairman (1987-1988) of the IEEE Chicago Joint Chapter of Antennas and Propagation and Microwave Theory and Techniques Societies. He was chair of the 1988 IEEE Chicagoland Microwave Symposium, and served as the Symposium Secretary of the 1992 IEEE APS - URSI International Symposium held in Chicago. His association with industry dates back to 1975 when he was employed as product engineer at Motorola Semiconductor, Inc. He has maintained close contact with industry ever since by serving as a consultant on applied electromagnetics and microwave instrumentation. He is a frequent reviewer for archival journals and a number of publishers in the science and engineering disciplines.
