About the Seminar

This seminar will cover fundamental concepts of power system grounding. Participants will learn about grounding design and procedural concepts as applied to all areas of power systems.

Sakis Meliopoulos is an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer on the topic of Power System Grounding.

About the Speaker

Sakis Meliopoulos is the Georgia Power Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Sakis is an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer on the topic of Power System Grounding. He is the developer of the program WinIGS, member of the IEEE-PES Std 80, 81, 998, 605 committees and member of CIGRE WG B3-54. He is the author of the book Power System Grounding and Transients: An Introduction, published over 400 papers, and holds three patents. He is an IEEE Fellow.

Reservations

The seminar is currently full. Please add your name and other information to the Seminar Waitlist. The training room has a maximum capacity of 70 people. We are contacting existing registrants to confirm their participation. A couple of people have withdrawn their reservation. We will contact everyone on the waitlist by close of business Monday Oct 14th.

Seminar price for IEEE PES Members: $150
Seminar price for non-PES Members: $175

IEEE Membership card must be provided at registration to qualify for IEEE PES Member discount. Checks payable to "IEEE-PES Chicago Chapter" will be accepted as payment for the seminars. Cash will be accepted, but checks are preferred. Payment must be received before entering the training room.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided during the seminar, but lunch is on your own.

Free parking is available in the garage connected to Lincoln Center 1. However, LC1 policy requires all vehicles to be "registered" during check-in, otherwise vehicles may be towed. To register your vehicle, provide your license plate number at the seminar registration desk.

Continuing Education

IEEE technical meetings may be acceptable as continuing education where required for maintenance of professional engineering licensure. Refer to the individual state's requirements for details. A receipt for eight (8) Professional Development Hours (PDHs) will be provided for the seminar, if you attend all eight hours.
