Dr. Oruklu joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology in August 2005. He is the founder and director of VLSI and SoC Research Laboratory and co-director of ECASP (Embedded Computing and Signal processing) Laboratory.

Dr. Oruklu’s research interests are reconfigurable computing, advanced computer architectures, hardware/software co-design and sensor systems. His current research targets system-on-a-chip (SoC) frameworks for FPGA and VLSI implementations of  ultrasonic signal processing and imaging applications.

Dr. Oruklu teaches courses in the areas of VLSI design, computer arithmetic, embedded system design and signal processing architectures.

Dr. Oruklu is a Senior Member of IEEE (Circuits & Systems Society and Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, & Frequency Control Society member)  and a member of Eta Kappa Nu.
