A set of Supplementary Problems A, with answers at the end,
have been left at Galvin Library for Electronic Reserves.

Problem 2.37 has a "pot" or potentiometer in it. It's value is
1 k ohm. It is just a resistor of value 1 k ohm, with a
sliding arm, where V_o is measured with respect to the
bottom of the circuit.

If we designate the resistance in the pot above the sliding arm
as R_x, and the resistance in the pot below the sliding arm as R_y,
then it is always true that R_x + R_y = 1 k ohm.

Also, both R_x and R_y can range from 0 to 1 k ohm, but as R_x
increases, R_y decreased, and vice versa, such that R_x + R_y = 1 k ohm.

This should provide the needed background to help solve problem 2.37.
