Over 20,000 residents of Canton and neighboring communities rely on Canton
Lake for clean drinking water. The West and Middle Branches of Copperas
Creek, portions of which lie within the proposed mining area, provide some
of the highest quality wildlife habitat, hunting, and fishing left in
Fulton County, and they lead into the Rice Lake Conservation Area, an
important area for migratory birds of all kinds.

Please sign this petition, which the Canton Area Citizens for Environmental
Issues will present at the public hearing on December 6:
