Earth Day at Montrose Beach & Dunes
Saturday, April 17, 2010
9:00 am – 12:00 noon (FREE SNACKS FROM WHOLE FOODS!)

Celebrate Earth Day a little early this year by cleaning up Montrose Beach
and natural area with the Chicago Group of the Sierra Club. The beach and
the dunes natural area are in need of a good spring cleaning before the
plants start growing and people and migrant birds return to the sands.

Spend a couple of hours birding then participate in picking up trash and
working on habitat restoration in the dunes natural area.

Chicago Group of the Sierra Club has adopted Montrose Beach and does beach
sweeps and habitat restoration for six months of the year (April through
September). Help from birdwatchers is always welcome. It's time to give a
little help to the Chicago hot spot that's given all of us so many great
birds.

Spend a spring morning tidying up one of Chicago’s finest natural
landmarks from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Come for all or part of the work period.
Dress for the weather, bring a filled water bottle and work gloves if you have
them.
FREE SNACKS are being provided by Whole Foods!
