This is an appeal for support for a Seattle-based public radio
production on birds/birding. The two-minute segments can also be
heard at http://www.birdnote.org/.

Calling all friends of BirdNote(R)!
Thanks for being a friend of BirdNote!

We'd like to ask a favor. You may not know that BirdNote is completely
supported by individual donors, along with one small foundation. Like
all other independently produced shows, KPLU does not pay for the
show, nor will other radio stations. They provide the valuable
airtime.

It costs over $200,000 per year for our production team of staff,
writers, narrator, and producers to put together this quality program.
We're grateful to our current financial supporters who make BirdNote
possible. They've been doing all the "heavy lifting."

As we get ready for our fourth year of bringing BirdNote to you on the
air, it's time to find additional donors who can help finance this
wonderful, independent program.

If you or someone you know can help, we'd like to hear from you. Can
you recommend someone we might talk to? Would you like to become a
"BirdNote benefactor" yourself? We're looking for gifts of $50 to
$50,000.

You may donate online at www.birdnote.org or mail a check to
BirdNote's non-profit parent, Tune In to Nature, 8441 SE 68th Street,
PMB 206, Mercer Island, WA 98040. We also have a way if you'd like to
make a gift of stock. To learn more, please contact Chris Peterson,
Executive Director, at 206-724-2714 or chrisp at birdnote.org.

One of BirdNote's ultimate goals is to bolster the ranks of people who
care about birds and nature—and want to do something to protect them.
Like you, we want people to "tune in and take notice." By supporting
BirdNote, you can help us achieve that goal.

Thanks for your help. We're glad you're out there listening. The best
is yet to come!

Chris Altwegg
President
BirdNote Board of Directors
