Unbelievable! I do hope that BCN plans to respond by sending a letter of
outrage to Newsweek and report this incident to all appropriate government
agencies to make sure this women pays for what she has done.

That’s an article by and about a woman who got over her anti-gun sentiment
so she could shoot the cardinal that was pecking at her window.  (She’d done
a lot of useless things to dissuade the cardinal but she apparently did not
take the obvious action of redecorating her ‘attractive nuisance’ windows.
Just shooting the cardinal was a better choice for her.)
 
Perhaps the USFWS could use some public support of outrage. (I’ve already
gotten the article escalated to their legal staff.)
 
Organizations with impressive titles might consider also contacting Newsweek

 
And if you belong to bird conservation list servs elsewhere, please feel
free to share this.
