American Bird Conservancy Vacancy Posting: 
Website and IT Coordinator


 

The Website and IT Coordinator is a full-time position with American Bird
Conservancy (ABC) at their offices in Washington, D.C., in charge of daily
management of the suite of ABC-hosted Websites and list-serves, and all ABC
computer, network, and telephone systems.

 

This position requires strong Web design capabilities; a thorough knowledge
of interactive Web-based computer languages; PC hardware and software
installation, maintenance, and upgrade abilities; and computer and telephone
networking knowledge. An enthusiasm for birds and ABC's mission is
considered a strong benefit.

 

Major Duties

 

*	Complete redesign and update of ABC's main Website - includes
design, scripting, and architecture components, plus some content
generation.
*	Maintain all ABC Websites to ensure content is current and fully
functional, and develop new Web applications as required to enhance the
visual appeal, interactive capabilities, and capacity of these sites to
further conservation goals.
*	Develop electronic communication tools to enhance ABC outreach
potential.
*	Maintain all ABC computers, network, and telephone hardware and
software to ensure full and consistent functionality. Repair and upgrade as
required.
*	Assist in developing and maintaining staff protocols and manuals for
use and maintenance of hardware and software to ensure maximum capacity and
compatibility.
*	Assist staff in remote locations in installing and maintaining
computer hardware and software.

 

 

Basic Requirements

 

*	An undergraduate degree plus five years relevant experience in Web
design and IT support.
*	Working knowledge of HTML, ColdFusion, MS Access, and Javascript a
must. ASP, ASP.NET XML, beneficial.
*	Ability to problem-solve computer hardware and software issues.
*	Experience setting up, maintaining, or developing computer networks.
*	Basic understanding of telephone systems. Experience with VoIP
systems beneficial.
*	Ability to write clearly, concisely, and grammatically.
*	Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with others, and
handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
