Dr. Jeffrey Wells, Keynote Speaker at the CAS Birding America conference earlier this year, and
very active in the effort to protect North American Boreal Birds, asked if I would post the following.

Teachers might be interested in getting their classrooms interested.

AMERICAS' BIRD TREK 2006

From the Andes to the Boreal

Birders may be interested in tuning in to a live Internet virtual fieldtrip
called Americas Bird Trek that will start in Ecuador and travel to
western Mexico and Cape May before ending in the heart of the Boreal forest
in northern Alberta. Classrooms from across the U.S. (including one from the
Chicago area) and Canada will be participating to learn about the migratory
birds that connect us across the hemisphere and will have the opportunity to
ask questions of the educators at each field trip location.

The event will take place tomorrow (Thursday, May 25th) at 1:00 EST, although
it will also be archived for viewing whenever is convenient.

A link to the live Quicktime streaming broadcast of the 'Americas Bird
Trek' will be available at: www.borealbirds.org

You can also find more information by clicking on the Americas Bird Trek
button at www.borealbirds.org
