[BCNnet] mitigation proposals for OHare wetland filling

Chris Oszak sent me this information recently about the choice of possible projects that could be used for mitigation for filling wetlands at O'Hare Airport.

On quick review, I am familiar with the property in Tinley Creek, south of Bartel Grasslands (I birded some of this area during the Illinois Breeding Bird Atlas and it has possibilities) and hope that Carolyn Fields might be able to see what benefits to Deer Grove FP habitat since she is familiar with that area (it's also the only area of those mentioned in Cook Co.).

Hope others on the BCN listserv will look at some of the proposals also.

Purpose of This Public Notice:
 
The purpose of the Public Notice is to provide the public the chance to comment on eight (8) mitigation proposals chosen for consideration to mitigate for impacts to jurisdictional areas resulting from the issuance of Corps application #200301000 issued to the City of Chicago for the O’Hare International Airport Modernization Project (OMP).  The eight (8) mitigation proposals as described herein have been chosen on a preliminary basis only and will undergo further review by the Corps at close of the public notice comment period. (see Exhibit 1)
