If you’re a birder – you are invited!!

Please join local, state and national community and environmental leaders 
to celebrate all the productive work that’s being done to conserve bird 
habitat in Illinois.

On Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 10:00, the City of Chicago, Audubon, and 
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will announce the identification and 
recognition of 48 Illinois Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Illinois.

The sites are the first in the state to be designated state-level Important 
Bird Areas. For more information about the Illinois IBA program, visit

Meet at the Harborside Golf Course at 11001 S. Doty Avenue in Chicago, 
Illinois.  Field trips to view and photograph birds at various locations in 
the Lake Calumet area will follow the announcement.

Directions:
 From the North, Northwest and some West communities
Take the Dan Ryan south to the Bishop Ford Expressway. Just past 95th 
Street Exit, the Ryan splits. Bishop Ford Expressway signs say I-94 “To 
Indiana.” Exit at 111th Street (Exit 66A) turn left over the Expressway and 
left again at the stop sign. Approximately 50 yards down the ramp is a 
cutoff to the frontage road. Turn right and then right again (South) on the 
frontage road. Entrance to Harborside is approximately 125 yards on the left.

 From the South, Southwest, some West communities and Indiana
Take the Bishop Ford Expressway (I-94) to the 115th Street Exit (Exit 66B). 
Turn right at the first cutoff, before 115th Street, to the frontage road. 
Proceed left (North) on the frontage road to the Harborside entrance 500 
yards on the right.
