Dear Friends and Colleagues:
Attached for your information is a brochure about the "Rivers & Bluffs =
Fall Birding Festival" November 15-17, 2002. This is the first-ever =
birding festival to be held in Northeast Iowa. It will be headquartered =
in Lansing at a time when birdlife is extremely plentiful here.
We will enjoy the peak season for great viewing and photo opportunities =
of thousands of Tundra Swans, and tens of thousands of colorful ducks =
and geese, plus numerous Bald Eagles, various hawks and other species. =
Major highlights include: Friday night program with live Trumpeter Swans =
close enough for photos; introduction to waterfowl found on the =
Mississippi River; introduction to enjoying the birds around us and how =
to become a birder; 2 half-day field trips with knowledgeable and =
helpful guides; Saturday evening live music; and a grande finale program =
where you can have your photo taken with a live Bald Eagle.
Please read the full agenda to see how many interesting and entertaining =
activities we have waiting for you. Our brochure is easy to read and =
appreciate when it's printed out. Please use the registration form =
that's included. Everyone who registers will be eligible for numerous =
door prizes to be given away at our drawing.

Many volunteers are busily working to make this weekend a very special =
time to visit Lansing - as the brochure describes. We hope to make this =
