[BCNnet] BCNnet: Conservationists/Birders Needed at County Board Meeting July 9

There are a lot of environment activities going on in the next couple weeks, 
but Commissioner Mike Quigley has asked that birders and environmentalists 
attend to July 9 County Board meeting (10:00 am start) to speak in favor of 
Cook County Forest Preserve District land acquisition in the Lake Calumet 
area. 

The need for the protection, preservation, better public access to, and also, 
restoration of lands important to birds afforded by public ownership is 
obvious to birders. Come and express your support for land acquisition in the 
Lake Cal area. Seeing government in action is interesting and giving your 
input is both satisfying and may make a difference in land protection!
