Albatrosses and other seabirds are drowning by the thousand after being
hooked and drowned in the world's longline fisheries. Most of the world's
albatross species are now considered threatened with extinction, with
longlines being the major threat, but effective and inexpensive solutions
exist. American Bird Conservancy (ABC) is working with numerous partner
groups to press for better protection for seabirds in U.S. and international
fisheries. ABC has established a web site: www.albatrossaction.org
<http://www.albatrossaction.org> to enable citizens to e-mail fishery
regulators to express their concern and request better protection for
seabirds.

Please consider helping the campaign by:

1. Visiting www.albatrossaction.org <http://www.albatrossaction.org> to
register your concern about longline impacts on seabirds.

2. Sending out an e-mail alert to your contacts and networks, and asking
them to join the campaign by clicking on the web site and sending a message
to fishery regulators.

3. Sending us a link to your web site so we can add you to the campaign web
site and promote your involvement in the campaign.

4. Adding information about longlines and seabirds to your web site and
